RUTH STEEN Obituary

STEEN, RUTH (nee McCONNELL) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth on August 20, 2021, in her 83rd year, peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Ruth will be deeply missed by her husband Don, the love of his life for more than 60 years. Loving Mum to Bob (Christine) and Janet (Ryan). Proud grandma to Matthew, Andrew and Holly. Ruth was predeceased by her parents William Robert McConnell and Sarah McConnell (nee Bonner) and her three siblings (Dorothy, Bob and Stewart). Ruth was born in Montreal in 1938 and attended the Mcdonald College campus of McGill University in Montreal for her teaching degree and later became a special education teacher, a career she loved for almost 40 years. Her wonderful attitude towards life, very caring nature and bright smile will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Canadian Cancer Society or Dorothy Ley Hospice.

I am so grateful for Ruth ~ my Mom’s little sister, Aunt to me and my sisters ~ Joan and Andrea. Many wonderful memories of Ruth throughout her life ~ notably Family gatherings at Nannie’s and summer activities at Lac Brûlé in the Laurentians. I will miss Ruth so much.
