Ruth Thorne Obituary
THORNE, Ruth Estelle (nee Wachter) - Passed away peacefully on March 16, 2010 following a brief illness, in her 96th year. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Gord 'Curly', and will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Betty and Mary. Ruth will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren Gord, Rob, Laura, Vicky and Keith, who have given her bragging rights about eleven great-grandchildren! Ruth truly enjoyed her employment as a Secretary with the Toronto Board of Education for 25 years. She was a volunteer with many wonderful organizations throughout her life, most notably as Brown Owl of the 25th Brownie Pack of Toronto for approximately 40 years. Visitation will be held at SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE (873 Kingston Road at Beech Avenue) on Thursday, March 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11 a.m.
