VANDER SCHAAF, Sam - Suddenly at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday September 29, 2010 in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Shirley Vander Schaaf (nee Twynstra). Loving father of David (Donna) and Sandra. Dear grandfather of Troy, Teesha and Samantha. Brother of Karl (Corrie), Thomas (Joan), Herman (Marj), Claire Tigchelaar (John) and David (Nancy). Friends are invited to a Celebration of Sam's Life on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Trinity United Church, Cobourg. In lieu of flowers, please give generously to the charity of your choice. Over the years as Sam served in the RCA Schenectady Classis as Interim, I would meet him at an installation service or at a Classis meeting and I was always impressed by him gentle charm and courteousness. I know he will be greatly missed by all.

Sam was a gentle giant of man; kind, spiritual and soulful. We shall miss him and always remember his peaceful, positive manner.
