Samuel Diamond Obituary

DIAMOND, Samuel Gerrard (Sam) - Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on October 25, 2009 in Richmond Hill. Beloved husband of Rita (Millar) for 54 years. Loving father to Rosemary Warren (John), Annette Harrington (Randy), Paul Diamond (Michelle), Caroline Guiste (Allan) and Angela Darcy (Paul). Devoted grandfather (Papa) to Michael, Ashleigh, Colin, Bre-Anne, Jamie, David, Justin, Nicole, Courtney, Samantha and Sean. He will be sadly missed by his brother Peter (Mary), predeceased by his brother James (Maureen). Also missed by his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Former Vice-President of Shoppers Drug Mart, Sam then opened his own consulting firm in national retail design and construction. Sam lived life to the fullest, was generous to a fault and was a true Scottish storyteller. He lived his passions and fulfilled his dreams, and at every opportunity turned a gathering into a ceilidh with a few renditions of My Way and Danny Boy. He taught us all that a loving family mattered above all else. Visitation will be held at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 10366 Yonge St., Richmond Hill (4th traffic light north of Major MacKenzie Dr.) on Sunday, November 1 from 2-5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 2nd at St. Mary Immaculate Church at 10 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to York Central Hospital Chronic Kidney Disease Program or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
