Scott Butterworth Obituary

BUTTERWORTH, Scott Roy —

Peacefully, while asleep in his own bed (and with the usual book in his hand), Scott Roy Butterworth (56) passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015.  Dearly loved son of Nettie and the late Roy and loving brother of Cathy, his second mother (David Snowden) and Janice Collins.  He was the fun uncle, quirky big brother and sometime mentor to all of the nieces and nephews he just adored: Kelly (Mike Bodden), Jeff (Leah), Tim and Katie Snowden, Daniel (Tara), Blake and Taylor Collins and of course his newest favourites Chloe and Lily. He was enjoying his position as Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Biosenta Inc.  Scott loved the cottage on Koshlong Lake with family and friends, driving the boat for skiiers and tubers while kibbitzing all the while. We think he was born knowing how to read, especially history books.  Most of all, we will miss his sense of humour, sharp mind and constant teasing. With love, Rest in Peace.  In lieu of flowers, donations to  Parkinson Society Canada or the Womens' Auxiliary at SickKids Hospital would be greatly appreciated.  A celebration of Scott's life will take place at the Donalda Club, 12 Bushbury Drive, Toronto, Ontario M3A 2Z7 on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 12-2 p.m.  Condolences www.rskane.ca

Nettie, so sad to hear the news about your son. As neighbours of ours when you were at 100 Cassandra, I thought you were the best! So warm and friendly. Scott's passing is not the order of things - this sucks! If you're ever nearby, i would love to say hello, give you a hug. Rick and I are thinking of you and sending our love.

Scott was my roommate and instrumental in making my last really, really fun year at university ... REALLY fun. Terrific sense of humour, great sense of adventure, very intelligent and, indeed, a prolific reader. Truly an original. No goodbyes Scott, just see you later.

Scott, please seek out a guava smashtini for me up there and have it ready for me. I'll never forget our terrifying moments spent on Whistler Peak during a complete whiteout. Rest in peace, my friend. Huge condolences to the family.

Our sincere condolences in the loss of your Scott,- son/brother/brother-in-law/uncle and friend to many people. As my Mother, who is a close friend of Netti's, is in Alberta at this sad time. I thought I would send this message of sympathy on her behalf and her family. I know Netti and my Mom have been speaking on the phone.
Our thoughts are with the family at this time.
