I skated at the Cricket Club for many years. Mr. Galbraith put the same energy into teaching little kids the Pink Lady Waltz as he did getting elite skaters ready for World's. He was a man ahead of his time with the use of technology. (Although I do remember skaters not wanting to be in his little video room for long, as it likely meant that skater was being thoroughly acquainted with something they were doing wrong : ) He shared not only his immense knowledge of skating while on the ice, but also the rich history of many wonderful skaters from around the world through his historical movies. His legacy lives on through the many skaters and coaches, who had the honour of knowing Mr. Galbraith.

Mr. Galbraith had a strong influence in my growth to adulthood. From the early days of his coaching me in Schumacher to competing in the Olympics and in the World Championships, I knew he believed in my abilities and did his utmost to make sure that we could both achieve our goals. The two of us had many great times together and I can't thank him enough for teaching me lasting values and self-confidence that stayed with me throughout my career. The over 10 years of being coached under Mr. Galbraith were one of the best periods in my life. Thank you Mr. Galbraith.

Mr. Galbraith will be missed and I am sure we all carry a piece of Mr. Galbraith forward in our life today. He was a coach as an amateur and professional and neighbour growing up near the Cricket Club. Today's funeral service was wonderfully different with music and speeches in celebrating his life.

I had the privilege of being taught by Mr.Galbraith as a MORNING GLORY at the Cricket club many years ago. I was so impressed that he could inspire us when he was also busy with world champions. His analysis of skating has made me understand and appreciate the efforts of the skaters as I follow the world tours.

My condolences to the Galbraith family during this difficult time. I had the honour of speaking to Sheldon several years back as a young skater. I remember him coming up to me one day after i was training but had to get off the ice due to an illness. He told me he thought i had great potential and enjoyed watching me skate, something i never thought would be true about myself. At the time iwas unsure of who he was but later on i found out who he was. Ever since that meeting he inspired me to do better and gave me a new hope. He was such an inspiring and wonderful man not just as a coach but also as a person. He will be greatfully missed by all who new him but his inspiring messages and kind soul will live on forever in our memories! R.i.p. Mr. Galbraith. -Sarah

I always loved chatting with Jeannie's Dad at the many neighbourhood parties we had together. He always had very interesting stories to tell . He loved to instruct the boys how to use their hockey skate edges to their advantage . He certainly had the knowledge. We will all miss him but know that Jean will be happy to have him with her for a skate around the rink .
