STEFAN KINIO Obituary

STEFAN KINIO Age 90, formerly of Chatham and Sudbury, passed away peacefully after a short struggle with cancer, in the loving care of his family on January 24, 2014 in Mississauga. He was born on December 12, 1923 in Poland and was a veteran of WWII. After the war he remained in Regensburg, Germany, where he married his wife Theresa before immigrating to Canada in 1950. After retirement, he was an active volunteer at the Senior Centre woodworking shop in Chatham. Stefan will be greatly missed by his sons Walter (Marion) and John, his nephew Ted, his niece Grace, his eight grandchildren and his only surviving brother Walter in Sudbury. Friends in Sudbury, Chatham and at Westminster Court, Mississauga will fondly remember him. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa and daughter Mary. A memorial service will be held at the chapel at 4150 Westminster Court on Saturday, February 1 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
