Stephen WEBBER Obituary

WEBBER, Stephen Stephen Webber, 80, passed away peacefully in his Fonthill home in the early morning of Tuesday, January 3, 2023. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Marlene; daughter, Terri (husband Michael); son, Scott (wife Donalea); and step-daughter, Traci (husband Alex); and his grandchildren, Cameron, Noah, Olivia and Annie. Stephen was born in Portland, Maine in 1942, the son of Carl and Faye Webber. He was the youngest of three sons: previously deceased Edward Webber and William Webber. Steve's independence and drive was evident even as a youth. Before his teens, he became the youngest Boy Scout in the state of Maine. He showed many qualities that would lead him to be a successful businessman. In the early '70s, Stephen moved his family from Boston to Mississauga, and quickly became a pioneer in the T-shirt and novelty business. Whether he was selling Christmas trees in his youth, or glow sticks in every bull ring in Spain, Steve was always ready for the challenge, even when others thought it was crazy. He loved sharing business ideas with his family. That excitement and enthusiasm would contribute to his success. Steve also loved to exercise, and was an avid and intimidating squash player. Stevie enjoyed travel, and spent many years exploring the world with his wife, Marlene. A special thanks to Trish Anderson, Katie, and Susan, for the amazing care they provided for Steve in the last year. There will be a gathering arranged to celebrate Stephen's life. The time and place is to be determined. In his last words, he expressed the love he had for his wife.

Steve´s passing was a very sad day for me . He was a great friend and business partner for more than 30 years. I´ll miss our long chats and sharing sushi and dim sum. He was the smartest and strongest man I´ve known.
I know how much he loved Marlene and appreciated all she did to care for him.
I will always remember him fondly.

I had the opportunity to meet Stephen through Terri in the mid 80's, I have work selling , concert shirts for many bands, and glow stick , and all kinds of novelty toys, and lets not forget the CNE ,but the best part was going to ChinaTown and eat in some of the best Chinese food in Toronto with Stephen and the crew and sharing some stories from our day.

Steve was like a second father to me, he was my step father. I could always go to him for advice and guidance. I will miss him greatly.

Steve, was a one of a kind entrepreneur. Always working on something. Although mainly a gentle man you never wanted to cross him. He loved live and to me was a good friend. Steve you will be missed by many on earth but I am sure that you will be able to sell the angels something that they don´t need.

Wishing all of Uncle Steve's family comfort at this time. As a small child, I was a little afraid of Uncle Steve-he seemed louder and larger than most adults I knew at the time! I didn't see him often through the years, but I always admired his initiative and enthusiasm in his work.
My deepest condolences.

My deepest condolences to all of Uncle Stephen's family. I still remember him as the man who re-taught me the proper way to hold silverware as a ten-year old. I think that he was shocked by my dining etiquette. He was very kind to me as a ten-year old. Again, my condolences.
