THELMA DUFF Obituary
DUFF, THELMA 1918-2022 It has been a wonderful life. After a long, healthy and loving life, our Mom, Thelma Duff passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the age of 103. Thelma was born October 10, 1918 in Toronto to Arthur and Euphie Olive Worth. Mom had 5 brothers and sisters (Myrtle, Sidney, Marjorie, Art and Stan) and throughout her life, Mom cherished her siblings and their families as well as all the Duff clan. After the war, Thelma and Robert (Bob) Duff were married June 4, 1949 and had two daughters, Susan and Nancy. Mom and Dad enjoyed 40 years of happy married life until our Dad passed 1989. Mom was loved, adored and admired by so many, but especially her daughters Susan Mocherniak (her husband Dan) and Nancy MacIntosh (her late husband Jim; and her partner Peter). Thelma was extremely proud of her five grandchildren, Shaun (his wife Jennifer), Andrew (his wife Lindsey), Michael (his wife Adrienne), Adam (his wife Phyllis) and Stephanie (her husband Tim). Mom was Great-Grandma or Gigi to Rylee, Teagan, Wyatt, Ellis, Nolan, Calvin and Nicholas. Mom enjoyed life to the fullest, loved being with family and friends, enjoyed learning new things, traveling, playing cards and summers spent at Big Cedar Lake. Mom enjoyed many wonderful years at Viva Retirement in Pickering and participated wholeheartedly in every activity and event. Her last year was spent at Caressant Care Long Term Care in Lindsay, where she received wonderful compassionate care. Most importantly, Mom had an amazing outlook on life, always found the positive in every situation and she never dwelled on the negative. Mom had the secret for a long, happy and healthy life, how to age gracefully and always being interested in what the family were doing. It is hard to say goodbye to our beautiful Mom – she was incredibly special. A private interment service has taken place. A Celebration of Life is planned for the spring.
