THOMAS STANLEY MITCHELL March 17, 1920 - May 10, 2014 Tom passed away peacefully from this life, age 94, at River Glen Haven Nursing Home in Sutton, Ontario. Beloved husband for 65 years of the late Dorothy (November 25, 2013). Dear dad to Kathleen Briggs (David), Salt Spring Island, BC; Nancy Briggs (Tom), Sutton, ON; Roxanne Briggs (Steve), Keswick, ON; and Brian Mitchell (Corinne), Paris, France. Devoted grampa to Daryl Briggs (Jaclyn), Sharon MacKie (Edward), Gary Briggs (Erin), Roger Briggs (Sarah), Suzanne Kershaw (Mark), Evan Briggs and Lauriane Mitchell. Dear "GGpa" to Joel, Tyler, Wade, Ben, Claire and Kaitlyn. Tom was loved by his brother Malcolm (1926) and his sister Dorothy (2007). He was a dear "Uncle Tom" to his nieces and nephews in the US. As a member of the Christadelphian faith community since his baptism in 1939, Tom lived his life in faithful hope of the promise of eternal life in the Kingdom of God. He now rests in peace until the resurrection at Christ's return. Sincere thanks to those who provided comfort and care to Tom at Cedarvale Lodge, Southlake Hospital and River Glen Haven. As Tom wished, cremation has taken place. A service to remember his life will take place at M.W. Becker Funeral Home, 490 The Queensway S., Keswick (888-884-4486), on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
