As the fourth President of adidas Canada I had the good fortune of not only following Tom's indelible footprints in business but also was provided with a connection to develop a friendship that lasted well beyond both his and my departure from the brand with the three stripes. Just a few weeks ago Tom and I had a wonderful lunch at one of his favourites haunts on Bloor St. West. We talked about all the important things in life: wives, children, grandchildren and of course sports which inevitably included the CFL. We together concluded that we were both indeed very fortunate and blessed Canadians. I know I am the better person for my memories of Tom and so glad that we shared a recent breaking of bread together.

To the Nease Family:
One of my greatest honors in life is to be able to say that I was the President of adidas Canada, and one of the main reasons is that the bar was set so high by Tom. Integrity and class are things that are talked about often but rarely epitomized over 88 years. Every adidas employee past and present owes a debt of gratitude to "Mr. Nease" , wish I was able to be there but if there was a reason to explain my absence, no one would appreciate it more than Tom. I have to be with my oldest daughter and from one family man to another, RIP Tom
