Dear Jerry

I have always thought of you as a remarkable woman - still do, but also an amazing one. I was your secretary for several years when you were the Health Administrator at Durham Centre for the Developmentally Handicapped.

You were a caring, knowledgeable nurse practitioner who knew instinctively what to do for everyone, and did it. You were a boss, and a friend. I looked forward to going into work every day to see the care given to the young people who had so many health issues. You and I have kept in touch over the years, not just with cards but writing letters. What a gift you were to anyone who knew you. I'll be seeing you.

Fond memories of dear "Jer-Bear" for our family. A spontaneous, interesting, open minded, progressive, funny, remarkable woman. Heaven gained an angel of the highest magnitude.

Met Gerry when she was the RN in infirmary for Sick Kids nursing students. Always strong, warm, caring and good example to all of us with her humour and role modelling.

My sincere sympathy to Jerry's family and friends. A remarkable life and career indeed. I learned of the NP role after meeting Jerry when she visited our Occupational Health Clinic at The Wellesley Hospital. I was so intrigued that I applied to the next U of T/ HSC NP programme. Thanks Jerry for lighting the way for so many of us.
