VICTORIA KARGUL Obituary

KARGUL, VICTORIA JOAN It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Victoria 'Vicki', on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Michael Garron Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne (Garbala) Kargul. She is survived by her sister Joanne (Jack) Panozzo. She was aunt to Anne, Angela and Jack (Jennifer) and three grandnieces and one grandnephew. In the 1970s working out of cramped quarters in the basement of Holy Name Church in Toronto, she was a guiding spirit that led to the creation of Silent Voice which provides full-time services and programs for Deaf adults and children. She is also a former Director of Volunteers at St. Michael's Hospital. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Donations should be to Silent Voice: www.silentvoice.ca

It is with deep sadness that I have just learned of Victoria's lost. I was a volunteer back in the 1970's with the Deaf Community and she was the first person to teach me signs. I know she is at peace with the Lord and will be sadly missed by family and friends. Peace and comfort to you Joanne and Jack.
