Violet Ui Obituary

VIOLET MISAYE UI (nee KONDO) Beloved wife of Hideo Ui (deceased July 10, 1987) passed away at 0015 hours, Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Toronto Western Hospital. She was born on January 6,1918 in Vancouver, BC to Hansuke and Take who emigrated from Shigaken in Japan and married in Victoria, BC. She is predeceased by her infant daughter; all her brothers; baby Tomeo; Bob Torazo (Harumi); Frank Toshikazu; Hank Kaichi (Julia); Jack Sueymatsu (Pat Setsuko); Roy Shoichi Shores; Jim Yoshio (Fumi) and Marubashi cousins and survived by Bob (Kay) and Fumi. Violet is also predeceased by her much loved friend and employer Clodagh Aileen Heal of Vancouver, BC, Passaic, NJ and Hong Kong. She is survived by her daughter Jo-Anne (Tony Olivier), sons Ronald Mamoru and Timothy Mitsuru. She is the much loved grandmother of Kevin (Alana) and Colleen and great-grandmother to Charlotte and Catherine. Violet is also the beloved step-grandmother of four: Michele, David (Corinne), Deborah (Dennis) and Brian. She is the step-great- grandmother of eight: Brandon, Caitlyn, Jordan, twins Brooke and Britanny, Brennan, Hope and Paige. Her nieces Kathy (Tom) and children Jennifer (Ryan and boys Ryder and Chase), Lindsay and David, Edie (Manny) and children Darrell (Kyleen and son Ryan), Kimiko (Billy and son Jordan), Donna (Yvon) and daughter Mikayla. Nephews Larry, Michael and Peter all remember her with love. Special thanks to Larry for his weekly visits which became daily, when his mom Fumi became our mom Violet's roommate. Many thanks to all the staff on the 6th floor of Castleview-Wychwood Towers and all of the wonderful volunteers who travel great distances to help the residents to have the best quality of life, ensuring that they are provided with Japanese Food and Culture. Please consider volunteering. Also, much thanks to Dr. Xing, Dr. Lam and Dr. Lin for supporting our mother in her final days on earth at Toronto Western Hospital. May the Lord God Bless you all. Friends may call on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles Avenue). A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Reception immediately following the service.
