WHITE, Violet "Vi" Alberta (nee NEWELL) February 23, 1926 - August 22, 2022 Violet, in her 97th year, passed peacefully on August 22, 2022. Born in Toronto to Thomas Joseph and Alberta Newell (nee Flett), Vi was the youngest of five, predeceased by her siblings, Charles, Kathleen Collingwood, Sarah, Evelyn Keaveney; and her niece, Valerie Collingwood. The Newell School of Dance in Toronto, was founded by sisters Evelyn and Vi. The sisters toured Canada and the USA entertaining WWII troops. Maya Diile and Elisabeth Fry

September 4, 2022

Although we did not know Vi for very long, it was very obvious what a dynamic and interested person she was. Her new found friend and "partner in crime" (they got Liver on the menu at Christie Gardens) Elisabeth Fry, my mother, misses her very much. Dinner in the dinning room will never be the same without her.
Though I only met her a handful of times I saw and admired her pluck and agile physicality at 97.
We will miss her and her spunk.
Lots of love to her children at this time.
Elisabeth and Maya.
