VITO MASELLI Obituary

MASELLI, VITO NICOLA Vito passed away on January 10, 2023, at the age 85, after a lengthy illness. Born in Guardia Lombardi, Avellino, Italy, to the late Antonio and Nicolina Maselli. Beloved husband of Rosemary for over 61 years; caring and devoted father to Linda (Terry) and the late Anthony; proud grandpa to Samantha, Christina and Lorna; and loving brother to the late Tina Pica. Vito lived life to the fullest. He was a talented, specialized mechanic who worked on the first automatic transmissions with General Motors. Other career pursuits included ownership of a construction company, and teaching at the secondary school level. In teaching, he was able to pass on his knowledge and technical skills to the next generation. For over 55 years, he was also a competitive athlete, coach, referee and sensei in Judo. He will be forever remembered in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Rd. East (west of Bayview Ave.), from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023. A Funeral Mass will take place within the funeral home's chapel on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. The interment will be held following the Mass in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a Charity of Your Choice.

To Rosemary and family, with respect: Please accept my condolences for, and memories of, a warm, courteous gentleman whom I met 50 plus years ago at Madonna High School--a gentle soul. RIP, Dear Vito.

For more than 3 score years , Rosemary and Vito were a loving, supportive couple . I was fortunate to have gone to grade 9 and 10 with Rosemary at Northern Secondary, later becoming a bridesmaid at their wedding over 60 years ago . Rosemary , you´ve carried on with loving care right to the end. With Linda´s support I know you´ll manage to cope independently. Bless you and fond thoughts dear friend . FromARTa
