Wanda Wahlstrom Obituary

WANDA LOUISE WAHLSTROM Ph.D.

(nee SPENCER )

Born December 10, 1937, in High Prairie, Alberta, Wanda died peacefully in her sleep on December 29, 2015 in Toronto. Predeceased by her parents Lloyd "Bud" Spencer and Florence Louise Spencer (nee Anderson).

Wanda is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 59 years, Merlin Walter Wahlstrom, her dear brother Dennis Spencer and his wife Kaye, both of Alberta, her daughter Laura, son Scott, daughter-in-law Hilja and all the others she treasured. She will be missed by her grandchildren Stephanie, Jonathan, Adam, Sasha and Andres.

Wanda enjoyed a successful career as an Educator with the Toronto District School Board. In addition to being a "force to be reckoned with," she will be remembered by friends and family for her sense of humour, great dinner parties, generosity, beautiful sewing and love of travel.

Many thanks to the staff of the Nisbet Lodge for their kindness and gentle care over the past 15 months.

Visitation will take place at the Trull DANFORTH Funeral Home, 1111 Danforth Avenue (west of Greenwood), 416-465-4661, on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
