WARREN BONISTEEL Obituary

BONISTEEL, WARREN DERRY Ease the mainsail and hoist the spinnaker, Warren has sailed into the sunset in his 94th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Audrey, his calmness and forbearance will be remembered by their children, Paul and his wife Mary Harris, Michael and his wife Margaret, Cathie and her husband Michael McBain. Grandpa to Rachael (Geoff Thompson), Kyle, Keighley, Ian, Simon, Erin, Isaac, Jenny, Brent and their families. Great-grandpa to Audrey Thompson. Warren was an optimistic, generous, patient, pragmatic man who enjoyed sailing, curling, lawn bowling, gardening, bridge and the occasional game of poker or pool with his buddies. He was a member of The Venerables who curled at Tam Heather; a proud University of Toronto alumnus; a member of the Cathedral Bluffs Yacht Club and St Joseph's Bridge Club; once retired he enjoyed participating in the Probus Association and Seniors activities in the West Hill Community. He had an interesting career as a mechanical engineer which took him across Canada, to parts of the USA, overseas to India, Sri Lanka and later in life to Russia. Warren was very supportive of the church, donating engineering skills to building and renovations in the parishes in which he worshipped. Many thanks to Dr. Kassirer for his time and support. Due to Covid-19 public health restrictions, there will be no visitation or church service. Interment will be confined to immediate family. Interment at Christ the King Cemetery, 7770 Steeles Ave. East, Markham. Condolence messages may be left online at mcdbrownscarb.ca under his obituary page.
