Werner Otto George WINTER

1937 - 2022

WINTER, Werner Otto George Adoring husband of 53 years to Miriam (1932-2017). Born in Edmonton on January 9, 1937, to Rev. Otto and Esther Winter, and passed away peacefully on May 13, 2022. He had great love for and will be dearly missed by his five children: Geoffrey (Tamarra), Jeremy, Christopher (Heidi), Tina and Rachel. He was a proud Grandad to Matthew, Joshua, Nicholas, Devon, Emily, Adrian, Nolan, Blake, Kane, James, Rebecca and Zoë. He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur, and will be warmly remembered by his youngest brother, Mark (My), and sister-in-law, Dhtim. Dad was an alumnus of Waterloo Lutheran University and the University of Western Ontario. He was a dedicated English teacher at Jarvis Collegiate Institute, Collingwood Collegiate Institute, Emery Collegiate Institute, and for two years in Kakamega, Kenya. He finished his career as Principal at McDonald Academy. Many thanks to the incredible staff at Hospice Vaughan; donations in Dad's honour would be appreciated. A funeral will be held at Glendale Funeral Home, 1810 Albion Rd., Etobicoke, on Friday, May 20th at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
