WILLIAM ROY BRADLEY ARBUTHNOT (1928 - 2011) Bill passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Health Centre with his family around him. He was a long term employee of GSW Ltd. Following his retirement as Vice-President, Bill continued his business involvement as President of Arbuthnot and Associates Ltd., a successful consulting firm, from 1990 to 2008. Bill was an active member of the Cutten Club where he and Shirley celebrated both their twenty-fifth and fiftieth wedding anniversaries. He served as administrator of the Guelph area V.O.N. and supported the Canadian Cancer Society for many years and served as President of the Canadian Chapter of the Arbuthnot Family Association. Bill loved sports from his early days, playing center with the Parkdale Lions Football team for coach Jack Kearsley. He was devoted to the Montreal Canadiens hockey team when Maurice Richard was his boyhood hero and he spent many more years perfecting his golf game. Bill is survived by his dear wife Shirley Alice, nee Bailey. Predeceased by his beloved son William Keith (1961). Lovingly and forever remembered by his children Elaine (Larry), Guelph; Linda (Rick), Kitchener; Leslee (Bryce), British Columbia; and Jim (Christine), Georgetown. Loving Poppa to his grandchildren: Geoff (Allie), Sarah and Caitie; Dayna and Josh; Ethan and Elliot, and sadly missed by his feline buddy Rusty. A private family interment will take place at Pine Hills Cemetery in Scarborough, ON. A reception to celebrate Bill's life will be held at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL -- McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (519-824-0031), on Thursday, April 7th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. The family invites friends and acquaintances to drop in to recall happy moments, to share a few smiles and chuckles and perhaps a few tears.
