HOCKNEY, William Arthur - (Group Captain) (OMM CD2) Peacefully passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the age of 90 years. As a Flying Officer, he proudly served with No. 70 Squadron RAF Bomber Command in the Middle East 1941 - 1942 as a Navigator/ Bombardier. He was Air, Naval and Military Attaché to the Canadian Embassy in Rome, Italy 1963 - 1966 and Base Commander at CFB, Winnipeg 1967 - 1969 and BUIC Commander USAF Base Baudette, Minnesota 1970 - 1972. Loving husband of Dora Hockney of Carrying Place, PEI. Beloved father of Dr. Richard Hockney (Judith) of Trenton, ON and Wayne Hockney (Cindy) of Trenton, ON. Loving grandfather of Richard of Calgary, AB, Pamela and Gerald Carter of Kamloops, BC, Justin and Trevor of Trenton, ON. Survived by sister Phyllis and her husband Lucien Forgues of St. Lambert, QC. Remembered by nieces Louise and Rose Forques. Friends are invited to visit at the Weaver Family Funeral Home, West Chapel, 170 Dundas St. W., on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at the 8 Wing Chapel, Trenton on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
