Having spent many hours in the basement watching sports on TV with Uncle Bill, while at the same time, talking about anything and everything, are memories that I'll have forever. If I had known better or wasn't so young, "Conversations with Bill" would have been recorded and published for all to read. To say he was fascinating is an understatement. He loved to tell jokes - good or bad. And there was always a glint in his eye that made you laugh before anything was said. Deep down, I really think he loved telling us the bad jokes just to get a rise out of us - or to check if we were listening. My fondest memory was that Bill was kind enough to take Stephanie and I (on his own) to Wimblewood when we were teenagers. It was one of the best trips - and he was so patient with us. For all that Bill had to deal with, he did it all with style, grace and extreme patience. Everyone who knew him also knew how creative and smart he was. I loved to hear his stories about his work. He was a role model for how we can all live our lives. What was most humbling, will be forever, his great love for Mairsie, his children and grandchildren. Adam, Zoe and I are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Bill, you are always in my heart.

I have so many fond memories of your dad. My Dad still speaks of him with such affection. I'm sure he touched many lives. He was one of the sweetest men I have ever met.
