WILLIAM BRENT SIM After a long fight with cancer, Brent passed away peacefully at his home on December 3, 2014 at the age of 65, with his loving wife of 36 years at his side. He will be greatly missed by his 3 daughters, Jennifer, Katie and Andrea and his sons-in-law, Michael Giorgio and Tony Rossi. He was a proud grandfather of Alexander and Nicholas. He is survived by his mother Edna Sim and brother Barry Sim and wife Vivian, predeceased by his father William Sim. Brent was a Systems Design engineer and worked in the construction industry on many jobs in Canada, the US and Oman. He pursued every project with passion and an eye for detail and loved working on his many home building projects. The family would like to express their thanks for the support from family and friends, the many wonderful Doctors and nurses from Sunnybrook Hospital and the great palliative care teams that helped with his care at home; Dr. Patterson, the CCAC, Red Cross and Saint Elizabeth Health Care. According to Brent's wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held for family and friends at Highland Funeral Home, 10 Cachet Woods Court, at 16th Avenue and Highway 404 in Markham, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Elizabeth Health Care at www.saintelizabeth.com and are greatly appreciated by the family.
