WILLIAM EDMOND JOSEPH STAFFORD Former Department Head of Mathematics at Leaside High School Peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Bill, beloved husband of the late Patricia. Loving father of John (Christine), Mary, Bill, Joe (Theresa) and James (Leanne). Father-in-law of the late Maria Luisa Gardner. Cherished grandfather of Claire, Marion, Katherine, Ellen, Emma, James, Madeline, William, Clare, Paul, Anna, Gabriela, Lucia and Nicholas. Great-grandfather of Sean, Lily, Luke, Violet and Liam. Dear brother of Elizabeth Fitzmaurice. A special thanks to the compassionate, caring staff at Ballycliffe Lodge, his home for the last three years. Friends may call at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas St. E., Whitby, 905-668-3410, on Monday, October 13, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 903 Giffard St., Whitby, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at 11 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. I am so sorry I will not be able to attend the funeral, as I am away. I have many fond memories of having him as my Department Head; he was a wonderful man and teacher. My condolences to his family.

I ad the pleasure to be in his Grade 13 Calculus class first semester 1974-1975. I wasn't the brightest in the class by a long shot but I will always remember the great patience "Mr. Stafford" showed me as I struggled with the concepts. My condolences to Bill's extended family.
