WINIFRED CZULINSKI Obituary

WINIFRED CZULINSKI (née CARLOW) November 10, 1923 - October 12, 2015 With great sadness, we announce that our mother Winifred died unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday -- almost 14 years to the day after our Dad, Tadeusz, died. She was the very best Mum to her seven children: Peter (who predeceased her in 2012), Kathy, Stephen, Winnie, Joseph, Joanna and Irene. Loving mother-in-law of Heidi, Mark and Lynn. Very proud Baba of Luke (Tina), Andrew, Nick (Kristine), Michael, Steven, Emily, Adam and Colin. Survived by niece Rona in Scotland and many others in Canada, Scotland and Poland. Mum was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and was recruited from university in 1941 to work at Bletchley Park (code- breaking). Shortly after the war, she met Dad when she was teaching English to Polish soldiers. After coming to Canada in 1952, they raised seven children with lots of love, home-baking and Scrabble. She was very active in the church she loved - St. Andrew's Presbyterian. Mum also made time in her busy schedule to volunteer at West Park Hospital for over 40 years. During the last four years, she resided at the Village of Humber Heights, formerly the elementary school where all seven of her children attended. Mum may have forgotten some things, but she was always aware and appreciative of the compassionate and considerate care she received. Her family is grateful to the exceptional staff who always treated her with love and dignity and for the wonderful home she had there. Mum made her wishes very clear to us. There will be a memorial service at St. Andrew's Humber Heights Presbyterian Church (Royal York and Dixon Rd.) on Thursday, October 22nd at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. As per her request, please, no flowers.
