Aline Saucier Obituary

Aline Saucier died peacefully in her home on July 20, 2021 in Thompson Manitoba at the age of 73. She leaves behind her son Richard (Donna), daughter Nancy (François), her 4 grandchildren; Nicole (Curtis), André, Faelecia, and Alain; and many close friends and family.
Aline was born on July 24, 1947 in Rivière-Verte, New Brunswick to George Bellefleur and Jeanne Cyr. She married Jean-Guy in March 1968, they welcomed Richard in 1969 and they moved from Edmundston, New Brunswick to Thompson in 1972. They moved into their home on Juniper Drive, where they welcomed Nancy in 1977 and they remained until their passing. Aline was a homemaker and raised Richard and Nancy, while babysitting from her home. She continued to provide childcare from her home for decades. Aline remained in contact with numerous children that she cared for over that time. Aline shared a passion for crafts with Jean-Guy and the two completed many projects together including birdhouses, lawn ornaments and crocheting. She had a love for animals and there was always at least one animal in the house, right up until the end. Aline and Jean-Guy had a hockey rivalry – Jean-Guy cheering for the Montreal Canadians, and Aline for the Quebec Nordiques.
She is preceded in death by her father George, Mother Jeanne, Jean-Guy, her husband of 51 years. Aline was the last remaining of her five siblings; sisters Marie-Ann, Cécile, Mona, and brother Donald.
Viewing was held at Boardman/Northland funeral home on Saturday July 24 from 1-4 pm. A mass dedicated to Aline was held on Saturday night at 6:30 pm at the St. Lawrence RC Parish. A recording of this mass is available on YouTube.
A gathering of family and friends was held on Monday, July 26, at 1 pm at the Thompson cemetery for a graveside service with Fr. Guna officiating. For those unable to attend, a link to view the graveside service is available on Aline's book of memories at www.boardmanfh.com.
