Darrell Salmon Obituary
December 15, 1970 – May 7, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Darrell announce his sudden passing on May 7, 2021 at the age of 50 years.
Darrell was born in Hamiota, Manitoba on December 15, 1970 to Richard and Vivian Salmon. He spent almost his entire life in Thompson, moving to the North with his parents in 1972.
Darrell worked at Stittco for his entire work life up until his passing. He started as a summer student in 1986 and moved into full time employment upon high school graduation in 1988. He continued his education with the company to obtain his A Ticket Gas Fitter License. Over the years, he fulfilled many roles with the company including Yard Attendant, Truck Driver and Serviceman. In the last few years he held the position of Service Coordinator.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife Lisa (Compton) of 24 years. He is also survived by his mother Vivian, brother Corey (Rhonda), his in-laws: Ray and Ruth Compton, Raymond (Candace) and Keith (Lauren) as well as nieces and nephews: Mackenzie (Mack), Austin, Madison and Scarlet. He will also be greatly missed by his grandmother Marie Bartram and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Darrell took great pleasure in the "Northern Life", including camping, fishing and snowmobiling. He travelled extensively in the North through his employment.
As per Darrell's wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no service at this time.
