It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Rampling on October 2nd at the Thompson General Hospital with family by his side. David was born in Hamiota, Manitoba, on January 30, 1954 to Stanley and Doris Rampling.
David lived in Hamiota until 15 years of age and then moved to BC where he continued his education. David completed his grade 12 in Ottawa. David worked for Inco in his younger years, then onto Codville, where he met the love of his life, Louise. David then got hired at Modern Dairies where he worked for over 18 years. After the shut down of Modern Dairies, he worked in the Sobey's warehouse and most recently, Safeway store. David had fond memories of his coworkers over the years, sharing many stories and laughter.
David's life was marked by hard work and a quiet strength that touched the lives of all who knew him. If the sun was shining, you could find David outside working on his tan. He liked to fish, barbeque, and spend time at Lake of the Woods with his family. Meeting up with his sisters and brother-in-law at the Cottage each summer was the highlight of his year. His 3 sisters doted on him and will miss him dearly.
David is survived by his beloved spouse of 44 years, Louise Bray; his two daughters, Taryn (Ben) and Taylor (Joe); two sons, Tyler and Trevor; his loving sisters, Diana, Katherine (Geoff), and Cecily; mother-in-law, Doreen; sister-in-law, Eileen (Jurie); nephews Richard, Michael, Dennis, and Shane; niece, Randi (Brad); close family friends, Sue and Lou, and finally his furry friends Parker and Bayley. David was predeceased by his father, Stanley; mother, Doris; father-in-law Dallas, and his special pup Tibby.
A service to celebrate David's life will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM at St. James the Apostle Anglican Church, located at 10 Caribou Road in Thompson, Manitoba. Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the memories of David's life.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Thompson General Hospital for their compassionate care and support during David's time there. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
If you wish, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a
Charity of Your Choice.
