Josephine Haney Obituary

Josie was born Oct 11, 1953 in Birtle, Manitoba. She spoke only French until she moved to Hubbard where she attended grade school. She graduated high school in Kelliher, Saskatchewan and began many different adventures and professions. Her final move was to Thompson in 1994 and worked at the hospital on a casual basis and at Trappers Tavern. She made many friends at Trappers and everyone soon knew when she was working by her unique laugh and bubbly personality. She started at Calm Air sometime later and worked both jobs till the end. She was dedicated to both jobs and hardly missed a day, more attributed to not wanting to miss anything that was going on than the work!
She was considered as the "bar mom" to all at Trappers and if there was any shenanigans would restore order and motivate everyone in her own special way to get them moving again.
Her grandchildren were her joy and family meant everything to her. Kodie, her grandson said he wishes she has lots of fun in heaven and loves her and will miss her dearly.
She passed away peacefully in Thompson General Hospital on July 24, 2021. She was predeceased by her mom and dad and 2 sisters. She leaves to mourn her son Sean Haney and grandson Kodie, her daughter Tania and grandchildren Jake, Jazmyne and Joseph. Her siblings, Jacquie Young, Simonne Haney (Ray), Brenda Haney (Brian), Blanche Parsons (Gord) and Wesley Haney and multiple nieces and nephews.
In lieu of donations, GO RIDERS!!
She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. A memorial in her honor was held at McCreedy campground from 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm on Thursday, July 29, 2021.
