Wally Sommerfeld Obituary
With much sadness, we announce the passing of Wally Sommerfeld (March 21, 1932–November 18, 2024). Wally was born near Shellbrook, SK. He was the son of Adolf and Anna Sommerfeld and brother to Bertha and Esther.
Wally moved to Thompson, MB, and worked at INCO. Wally and Mabel were married in 1968, and they raised their four children there: Bob, Eugene, Howard, and Lori. After retiring, they moved to Kelowna, BC, and spent several happy years there.
Mabel's health declined, and they returned to Manitoba in 2000 to be closer to family. Unfortunately, Mabel passed away in 2001. Wally remained in Steinbach and lived independently to his final days.
A private funeral was held on November 25, 2024.
