Ailsa Marianne "Missy" Ross

Ailsa Ross Obituary

ROSS, Ailsa Marianne (Missy) Born February 28, 196l died May 14, 2005 Missy, as she was known to her family, was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter Chahalis. She was also the dearly loved daughter of Dorset Ross and the late Lieutenant Commander Donald N. Ross (retired), and the much loved sister of Lindsay, Kristin, Jamie (Sylvia and daughter Katherine), Nicholas (Tanya and sons Sebastian, Macaulay, Jonah, and Samuel), Katrina (Don), Heidi (and daughter Monica), and Jeremy (Tammy and their daughter Arden, and Jeremy's daughters Eleisha and Alexandra). Missy's great charm, her whimsical sense of humour, and her sparkling personality always made her the centre of any group, but especially of children. She brought creativity and style to everything she did including the photographs, handmade cards, and letters that we treasure. Her love of travel and other cultures led her to live in Japan and then New Zealand; but the real passion of Missy's life was her daughter Chahalis. Missy faced cancer again and again with courage, strength, and grace beginning in her early twenties. While it repeatedly took away her health, it never took away her brave spirit or her dignity. We thank Missy's family, friends, and medical teams for their support and kindness throughout many years. Missy is greatly loved and missed by her immediate family; by her former partner Jack Raro" Eastbury, dad to Chahalis; by her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and by her many friends, but we know she is now with her beloved dad, Nana and Grandfather Stephenson, Granny and Grandad Ross, and Uncle Alan.
