We first met Ajeat way back when we all worked together in the old Carnegie library on Yeats St. It was her smile and enthusiasm that enlivened the place, and continued on to grace all the other branches she worked in throughout the system. Thanks, Ajeat, for making our library years so special.

I have fond memories of dear auntiji, when my parents lived on Burnside Avenue Victoria, BC in the 1970's she was our neighbor, across the way, with her husband (late uncleji) and son Davey. Mom recalls the friendly waves and conversations during that time and to this day.

I was only in elementary school, but our paths crossed again, as I began to volunteer and she was on the Saanich Multicultural Steering Committee in the 1990s (see pic). We continued our relationship, as we hosted a Japanese student, a lovely girl, who found her partner, who then moved to auntiji's rental suite.

To me auntiji will always remembered as an intelligent, lovely beautiful women with a calm sense of humour. Rest in peace, our dear auntiji.

The picture below is auntiji at our home for a family celebration.

Love,
Sonia, Amy, Bik, and parents Manjit and Mohinder Grewal.
