BROWN, Alan William September 1, 1923 - April 13, 2013 The eldest son of William (Billy) and Norma Brown. Dad was predeceased by his brother, Ray; sisters, Barbara and Patty. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjie and their four children, Ken (Jennifer), Kathy (Eric), Heather (Duncan) and Paul (Zuzana); grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He spent two years in the Air Force during WWII and went to UBC upon his return graduating with a B.Com. He and his family moved from Vancouver to Victoria in 1965 to take on the challenge of establishing the BC Medical plan. He was a key figure in the plan and he took great pride in his role. Dad was passionate about golf and the eternal quest for the perfect swing. He always enjoyed good conversation accompanied with the occasional chocolate bar. He and Marjie travelled extensively but he was always happy to be home in "the best city in the world" Dad was a very content man who always saw the good in everyone and his happiest times were spent with his family. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. The family will be holding a private memorial in honour of his wishes.
