Albert CROW Obituary

CROW, Albert Wilson February 20, 1952 - December 9, 2012 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Wilson Crow. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his father, Ron Crow, in laws Wayne Morson, Barrie Pearce, Jack & Claudia Robbins. Survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Susan, adoring daughters, Michelle & Heather, mother Ruth Crow, siblings Lynda Hind (Terry), Gloria Morson, Richard Crow, sister in law Shaaron Lees (Bill), nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Al was born in Melville, Sask., his early years spent on the family farm. The family moved to Victoria in '66, Al attended Lansdowne Jr. High then Oak Bay High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Susan (Robbins). They attended UVIC then and Al completed his BComm. at UBC in '75. Al achieved his CA designation in '78 working at Thorne Riddell/Peat Marwick Thorne ('75-87). In '83, Al acquired his CIRP (Insolvency Professional), and was licensed as a bankruptcy trustee in '85. Al was the CEO of Gidden Industries ('87-93). He was a dedicated, successful businessman and president of Speedpro Systems Van. Island ('93-present). Al became a Director with the Gr. Vic. Chamber of Commerce in '87, President in '93, and Board of Gov. 2006-present. His community involvement was extensive as he sat on many committees ('78-present). Al's greatest love in life was his family. He was a devoted husband and father who prioritized time with his family above all else and was exceedingly proud of his girls' accomplishments. He'll be remembered for his wonderful personality, sense of humour, exceptional work ethic and generosity leaving an unfillable void in all the lives he touched. We would like to thank Al's Vancouver cancer specialists, Victoria phys. Drs. M. Kilshaw, F. Egan, and the compassionate Hospice team. *Full obituary on McCall's website A gathering of family, friends and colleagues will be held on Sat.
