HARKNESS, Allan Walter Wellington Born July 23, 1936 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on January 14, 2015 in Duncan, BC. Allan was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Mary Amanda Harkness, brothers Carl (Lorilie) and Donald. Lovingly remembered by his brother Leonard (Loretta) and their family, children: Blake, Mary Ann; grandchildren, Elijah (Ashleigh), Marley, Isaac and Zoey, long time companion Noni as well as many friends. Allan grew up in Richmond, BC. In 1976 Allan moved to Cobble Hill where he remained until his passing. Allan worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic for Fining Canada, Harkness Diesel Repair and finally at Camosun College as a Heavy Duty Diesel Instructor. He loved Classic cars particularly his 1957 Chev Nomad taking it to car shows and long road trips with his friends. The family wishes to give a huge thank you to the staff at Cairnsmore for their care and compassion during Allan's stay there. A Celebration of Allan's Life will be held at Kerry Park Arena, 1035 Shawnigan-Mill Bay Road, Mill Bay, BC on Saturday January 31, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. (weather permitting bring your classic car if you can) Flowers gratefully declined, however, if so desired, a Memorial Remembrance may be made in the form of a donation to Cairnsmore Place, 250 Cairnsmore Street, Duncan, BC V9L 4H2.
