Allan Paul Obituary
PAUL, Allan Allan was born in Penticton to Jeanne and Allan Paul on September 21, 1935. He passed away in Saanichton on December 29, 2020 at the age of 85. When he was 3 the family moved to Vancouver and Allan graduated from Lord Byng High School in 1953. From there Allan went to UBC and received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering in 1960. Positions with the Government ministries of Public Works, Education, Forestry, Highways and Attorney General led up to his retirement in 1994. Curling, reading, playing bridge, dog walking, working with a friend making house renovations and gardening were favorite pastimes and after moving to Saanichton he, along with a group of volunteers, built a split rail fence along Graham Creek to help protect it from damage as it wound through Centennial Park. As a family, summer camping trips were great fun followed by more extensive travels with Julia. Allan is survived by his wife of 58 years, Julia, and their sons and wives- David and Anita, Christopher and Rhonda. Also by cousins and many friends and neighbours. Our sincere thanks to the staff of Extended Care Unit 1 at Saanich Peninsula Hospital for their commitment to quality care and support for almost 3 years. You have been like family to us. Those so wishing might choose to remember Allan with a donation to Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation, the Victoria SPCA, or the charity of choice.
