Ann North Obituary
Marjorie Ann Cunliffe North (née MacNeil), Mac or Scottie as she was known to many friends, co-workers and neighbours, was a boarder at Queen Margaret's School in Duncan. She graduated from the Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing in September 1949 at the age of 21. She served as a Nursing Sister with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps from 1950-1953, including a posting of Fort Churchill, Manitoba. Married February 1953 and divorced October 1976. Over the years, she was active in Cub Scouts, Girl Guides, Parish Council, Rector's warden, QMS Alumnae as Treasurer, then President. Scottie ended her working career with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, an association she regarded highly. She loved the outdoors, camping, picnics, and gardening, and always had some form of handicraft 'in the process' - smocking, knitting, sewing, quilting, fabric painting and various forms of 'folk art'. Scottie is survived by her son Andrew (Debra), her grandsons, Allan (Jenn), David and Steven (James), her great-grandson Joseph, in Toronto, and her daughters, Susan in London UK, and Holly in Victoria. Many thanks to the staff at Glengarry Hospital who looked after Scottie with such great care.
