I met Tony at Bill and Laura's when he visited his sister, and brought bread he had baked. My thoughts are with you Joyce, "Be strong, be brave, do not be afraid"

Tony and I were out for coffee in Sidney about 3 years ago.Tony grabbed a table while I secured the coffee. I remember coming back to the table with two large Latte in bowl-like cups and the look on Tony's face was priceless. I'm sure he thought I'd gone upscale since moving to the mainland. Back in the seventies while hooking up the lowbed one day, I slipped between the truck frame and came to an abrupt stop with both legs straddling the drive shaft. Tony was driving by just in time to see me disappear and he came running over. I was in agony and thinking of pantyhose instead of jeans in my future.Tony looked me square in the eye and said, "Dick does it hurt?" To this day I'm not sure if the tears running down my face were from the pain or what tony had just said! The company had this very old city bus and some bright spark came up with the great idea to convert it into a semi- trailer for on site storage. I really hated moving that thing around. It looked like a bus in love with a truck and chasing it around town. People would pass laughing and pointing. You really needed a bag over the head for this one. Anyway one day while moving it from Sidney to Blenkinsop, I pulled away from the lights at Elk Lake and the trailer pin broke dropping the bus in the left turn lane on the highway. I still remember thinking I had been shot at when the glad hands came crashing through the back window into the cab. After requesting help from base, a few minutes later Tony came over the air and said Dick I forget, does the bus have Webb and Trace signs on it?

I will miss my visits Tony and all the reminiscing over coffee. When you see me coming, grab me a cold one. I'm proud to have known you as my boss and friend.

My condolences Joyce, to you and all the family.
