Arthur Dickman Obituary
DICKMAN, Arthur Wilfred It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Dickman, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend on November 6, 2007. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Haggai Institute in Maui, Hawaii, a place he loved. Art was born September 19, 1939 in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan. Art married his high school sweetheart Rene Harder on July 1, 1961 in Waldheim. Art was a teacher and principal for 31 years, teaching at various schools in rural Saskatchewan and Saskatoon before retiring in 1991. In 1987 he fought a courageous fight with cancer and miraculously won this battle with an incredible faith in God. His strength of character and faith in God were a shining example not just to his family but to a large number of people. In 1991 Art and Rene moved to Victoria, BC where Art enjoyed the warmer climate. Art loved to travel and meet people and these two passions came together when he worked at the Haggai Institute in Maui. He found great satisfaction and fulfillment in working there, and was almost finished his ninth stint of working with the Haggai Institute when he passed away. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Rene; his son Kevin (Connie) Dickman; daughter Karen (Blaine) Frisky; grandchildren Jessica, Carmen, Katherine, Allison and Elizabeth; stepgranddaughter Sierra; and a host of other relatives and close friends. Art was a tremendous influence on many people through his sharing and work and he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial established in Art's name at the Haggai Institute to sponsor the education and training of Christian leaders world wide. A celebration of life service was held on Friday, November 16, 2007 at Salem Church in Waldheim, SK. 426536
