Arthur Plint Obituary

PLINT, Arthur Labron, P. Eng., C. Eng., F. I. Mar. Est., Passed away at Victoria, B.C. on June 1, 2009. Arthur was born 1923, the third child of the late Mr. James A. Plint and Mrs. Elsie L. Plint of Great Crosby, Liverpool, England. He leaves his wife June, daughter Wendy and son Colin (Vivian) and four grandchildren, Wendy June, Geoffrey and Sean and James. Sadly he was predeceased by his sisters, Nora in 1994, New Zealand and Joan in 2000, U.K., and his brother Colin in 2004, Ontario. Following WWII service as an Engineer Officer in the British Merchant Navy, Arthur emigrated in January 1948 to Canada and settled at Vancouver. Here his energies and interests saw him variously as a sales application engineer, commissioning and guarantee engineer for a multitude of diesel electric power stations, oil pipeline pumping stations, natural gas compressor stations and several marine engine installations. Arthur also served as an engineer surveyor at the Ministry of Transport Headquarters, Ottawa. Arthur requested cremation and no service. Family and friends are invited to a tea at the home of Colin and Vivian Plint, 10212 Almond Street, Sidney, Sunday June 7, at 1:00 p.m. 544147
