Austin Edward MACDOUGALL

MACDOUGALL, Austin Edward Austin Edward Macdougall, 30 years old, of Aldergrove, BC, passed away unexpectedly on July 5th, 2017 in Edson, Alberta. Austin was born on June 25th, 1987 in Langley, BC to Sandy and Merilee Macdougall. He graduated from D.W. Poppy Secondary School in 2005. After high school he joined the Escape Velocity Youth Development Cycling Program where he raced for the junior provincial team and later was a role model and coach for aspiring racers, a program and community that greatly shaped Austin's life. He successfully completed his RCMP cadet training in 2015 and went on to become a Constable for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He was posted to the community of Edson, Alberta where he passionately served and became a valued member of the local community and police force. Austin was happiest outdoors on a bike looking for his next challenge or adventure. He was a loyal and kind-hearted guy, who made friends easily and cared deeply for his family, partner Katie, and his two beloved Jack Russells Shiloh and Cricket. He will be remembered for his compassion for others, his exuberance for life and unmatched sense of humour. Austin had the ability to light up a room with his laughter and positivity. His big heart and benevolence exemplifies all that is good in the world and he will be profoundly missed. Austin is survived by his partner Katie Brissard, his parents Sandy and Merilee, and his brothers Gabriel and Adam. A memorial will be held on Monday, July 17 at 2p.m. at the CLA Church, 21277 56 Ave, Langley Twp, BC.
