DONALDSON, Barbara Ann
February 19, 1941 - September 29, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Donaldson on September 29, 2025, in Victoria, B.C. from complications due to Parkinson's disease. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by family, cherished memories, and lots of love.
Born on February 19, 1941, in Toronto, Ontario, Barbara was the beloved only child of the late Ted and Isabel Bedwell.
Barbara lived a life full of love, laughter, travel and adventure. She delighted in exploring the world, with trips to Turkey, Africa, Iceland and Norway holding a special place in her heart. She was known for her quick wit, lively conversations and a remarkable gift for recalling trivia, particularly when there were prizes on the line.
Later in life, Barbara had the great fortune to meet Terry, the love of her life. She shared many joys with him, from golf games to road trips to the simple pleasures of time spent side by side.
She is survived by her children Gord (Ann Marie), Catherine (Jose), and Laura (Mackenzie), her grandchildren Cassandra (Andre), Jose Alexander, Marco, Alannah (Brent), Ken (Lindsay), Aidan (Natasha), Nicolas (Maria), Heidi and Arielle (Jason), as well as eight great-grandchildren (shortly to be nine.) She also leaves behind many extended family members and great friends (you all know who you are!)
Barbara often reminded her children that 'Every day is a gift' and she lived her life by that mantra. She faced her Parkinson's diagnosis with courage, determination and an unwaveringly positive spirit. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Parkinson Canada or to ALS Canada.
