Barry CROFTON Obituary

CROFTON, Barry Gerald Barry passed away peacefully September 8th, 2012 with his loving wife Gail and sister Kerry at his side. Son of Patrick and Anne Crofton, Barry was born in Ganges and attended St Michael's School and Oak Bay High. He is survived by his wife Gail Crofton-Kerr (her sisters Julie and Karen) and step-son Ben King in Nova Scotia, and brother Cameron (Carol Marie), sister Kerry (Charles Blackhall), nephew Nigel, niece Deki and many Crofton cousins in Victoria and his Evans cousins. Barry was much loved for his gentle spirit and great sense of fun; he was loving, brave and cheerful, never losing his wry humour even in the face of his long illness. A funeral service was held in Halifax. Barry will be remembered at the 10 am service, Oak Bay United Church this Sunday, September 23rd. Barry cured me of debilitating asthma. He did it in three months. He made my life better, and for this he shall ever live in my heart. God bless you Barry, and someday we will carry on our conversations - I promise not to interrupt as much.

My love and thoughts are with you all. My first memory of Barry is when he was at St. Michaels prep school, about age 7,on stage at a Christmas concert with my brother, Chris, as they argued in the midst of a carol about the right words! Arms around you Gail.

I was very saddened to hear of Barry's passing. He was the best man at my marriage to Alan Kelly on August 12, 1972. I remember Barry as full of fun and could be quite mischievious as he learned how to push my buttons! My sincere condoldences to Gail, Kerry, Cam and his family. My heart goes out to you all.

May you always keep the wonderful memories alive to help you through your sadness.
