Benjamin VIVIAN Obituary

VIVIAN, Benjamin John
1935 - 2024
Benjamin, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed peacefully to his home with Jesus on Tuesday January 30, 2024.
He will join his parents, Richard and Violet Vivian. Ben had two brothers, Archie and Dick, who predeceased him.
Ben was born and lived his life in Victoria. Married to Germaine Bourquin in January 1962, they together started their journey working and raising five children, Sherry, Larry, Lani, Greg, and Rick. They were blessed with 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Ben started his career as a Draftsman with DND. As time passed, his hard work and dedication led him into a management position within the BC Building Corporation. Throughout their lives, Ben and Germaine had a passion for renovating houses throughout Victoria. A couple heritage house restorations still remain on Fort Street. They spent 30+ years as snowbirds in the Coachella Valley, California.
Ben and Germaine came to know the Lord Jesus in their 50's and dedicated their remaining lives to using their God gifted talents in service. Starting at the Mustard Seed church in Victoria, they began a teaching and singing ministry. Ben was ordained in the year 2000 by the Baptist Union of Western Canada. While in California, Ben was the prison chaplain at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison for 10+years. Their combined ministry work touched and saved many souls.
Everyone who knew them knows they are together again in the glorious light of Jesus.
"Well done, Good and Faithful Servant", Matthew 25:23

A funeral service and reception will be held on Saturday March 2, 2024, starting at 1:00 pm. Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra St, Victoria.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Mustard Seed will be gratefully accepted.

Oh, Grandpa Ben you were by far one of the kindest, sweetest men I have ever met. Your love for Nana and all of us will never be forgotten. I am so happy you and Nana got to live such a wonderful long life together.
I used to love when I went over for a visit that you wanted to know all about our adventures and what we had been up to since the last time we visited. I wish I had one key memory that stuck out but every memory I have of you is just as important and sweet as the rest. Love you Grandpa Ben until we meet again one day.
