Bernice Lloyd Obituary

LLOYD, Bernice Muriel January 31, 1923 December 31, 2009 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice on December 31, 2009 with her husband, Bob at her side. She is survived by her children, Sandi Marshall (Fred) and Gordon Lloyd (Nelia) and grandson Ross Marshall. Bernice grew up in Winnipeg where she met and married Bob in 1945. In 1957, they moved to Victoria where they raised their family and ran the Estevan Fish and Chip Shop. Bernice was a kind, positive and courageous woman who lived her life with grace and dignity. She always put her family first and, forever seeing the best in people, drew many into her circle of friends. Bob and Bernice spent many happy years at Monterey Centre and were very active members of the Sing Along and cribbage groups. They enjoyed fun filled trips to Reno and several Alaskan cruises with their good friends. The family wishes to thank the Beacon and South Victoria Home Support Services, BC Cancer Agency, Victoria Hospice and Home Nursing for their compassionate care. A celebration of Bernice's life will be held at the Monterey Centre, 1442 Monterey Avenue on January 23 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the BC Cancer agency. 574624

May you all be surrounded in the coming days with the wonderful memories of time spent with Bernice and be comforted by the support of friends. I had the privilege of working at Estevan Fish and Chips during high school and UVIC days. I have the fondest memories of the kindness, humour and compassion that Bernice always displayed. What a remarkable woman and what an honour to have known her.

My thoughts and prayers go to all the family, especially Bob at this sad time. I worked at the Fish and Chip shop when I was 13 years old and Bernice was a lovely woman. I so enjoyed my Wednesdays and Saturdays at the shop and have many fond memories. Bob my you find solace in all the wonderful memories of Bernice.

Dear Bob, Sandi and Fred, Gordon and Nelia, and Ross,
Our family is profoundly sad to learn of Bernice's passing, and sends our deepest sympathy and love to all of you at this sad time. You are always in our thoughts and we want you to know that we care. Bernice was a lady and a wonderful friend to Mabel and Gordon, and we know how much she will be missed. Alas, we had hoped to be able to visit sometime soon after coping with the passing of our own dearest John on December 3rd. With love, affection and many hugs from Denise Armitage, Mabel Anthonisen, Cedric, Pam and Gordon, and families.
