Beverley KENT Obituary

Beverley was born in Wairoa, New Zealand. She had lived in Victoria for over 25 years, with her husband, Don Roberts. Both Don and Beverley were philosophers. Beverley received her PhD from the University of Waterloo. She taught at several institutions, most recently at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Beverley painted and her paintings graced some of the walls in the home. She wrote poetry and haikus for family on special occasions. She loved music and walking in nature. Beverley was preceded in death by her husband, Don Roberts. She is survived by two siblings, Errol Kent and Nancy McIntyre, and two stepchildren, Roy Roberts and Kris Roberts. A private celebration of life has been held by the family.

Sincere condolences to the family of Bev Kent and Don Roberts. They supported the Times Colonist for decades and never complained when the weather caused delays. The walk from their home to the cul-de-sac road down the hill was incredibly steep and my heart pounded a bit faster when I was asked to deliver the paper closer to their home. Then I realized that Bev ( or Don, when capable) walked down this road every day until ( Bev) experienced a fall in January. I can't believe I was scared to drive up their driveway and Bev walked it everyday. I hope they get to read the Times in heaven.

I worked with Beverley at CN in Montreal in the 60s. A lovely person. I am sorry for your loss.
