Beverly Dragseth Obituary

DRAGSETH, Beverley Laura 1960 - 2022 On September 27, 2022, due to tragic injuries sustained in a fall. Beverley was born in Pouce Coupe, B.C. on August 31, 1960. After several moves with her parents, she arrived in Calgary in February of 1962. She attended school in Calgary where her first teacher noted with joy that she was a "bubbly" child, full of personality, a trait that defined her, all her life. She graduated from Viscount Bennet high school and attended Mount Royal College. Her interest in the tourism industry started when she worked at Panorama Ski Resort where she met her first husband, Michael Swager. They moved to Victoria which became her true home, though they divorced shortly thereafter. Beverley continued to grow and blossom in the tourism field. She travelled the world from Siberia to Southern Africa and even worked for awhile in Japan. Her tourism work included teaching at Camosun College and working at Royal Roads University, as well as helping to start the Pacific Wilderness Railway. During this time she enjoyed a brief second marriage to Bob Wasney Beverley will be missed by the many people who had the pleasure and privilege of getting to know her. She was predeceased by her mother Hope in May 2021 and is survived by her father Trevlyn Dragseth and her sister Barbara Dragseth of Calgary. According to Beverley's wishes, she has been cremated and has returned to Calgary where she will once again be by her mother. Condolences may be offered at www.sandsvictoria.ca

I knew Bev for many years.
She became someone I could count on to greet me with a smile.
As I traveled the world., I found Bev a supportive & knowledgeable friend.
I returned to Victoria after years of personal & business growth and, to my great delight met Bev on a sunny day, on Wharf St, while waiting for my husband to finish applying as a conductor with the Pacifice Wilderness Railroad.
She didn't put the fact that we were there to inquire about employment ahead of our friendship.
She was a warm, positive, knowledgeable friend & I was so happy to see her again.
I'm so sorry to hear of her passing today & hope that she's remembered for the incredibly unique & positive person she was.
She could only have brought the same to many others who will miss her.
