Bill Carragher Obituary
We are deeply saddened to share with you Bill's peaceful passing on October 27th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family as he'd wished. Bill was a much beloved and proud father to Dan, Chris and daughter-in-law Jenn, and grandfather to his adored grandchildren, Elliott and Lachlan. Family was everything to Bill, and he and Kim treasured their family and friendship to the very last.
Bill came from humble beginnings and worked his way up through various sectors of government beginning in 1981, to finally hold the position of Director of Labour Relations for the BC Provincial Government. He derived great joy from his work and coworkers alike which was evidenced by the lasting friendships that endured long after his retirement. Bill had an innate love of humanity and this shone through in all of his personal and professional encounters. He always saw the best in people. You felt that you mattered whether you were family, friend or stranger. His wise, gentle and humorous nature will be so missed.
Music was Bill's passion and he played bass in several bands, including his last, "3 bits Worth." He was never happier than when practicing or performing with his close friends and bandmates.
Bill is survived by his dear brother Skip Triplett (Stuart) and many special cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Bill is predeceased by his loving parents, Anne and Bill of Beaconsfield, Quebec and beloved sister Carol (Rudi).
Many thanks to his caring family physician Dr. Behroozi, and all of the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers there for him on every part of his health journey including every one of you at the Victoria Hospice Society at Royal Jubilee, You supported Bill and all of our family in such a profound and kind way.
In lieu of flowers, should you wish to remember Bill, a donation to Victoria Hospice Society would be much appreciated. We hope to have a celebration for Bill in the new year, but until then, please celebrate him in your own special way.
