Brenda mentioned that she would purchase individual Pokemon cards for her grandchildren from eBay. This gift would have taken an incredible amount of legwork and thought. She had a great sense of humour that often came out while tackling challenges at work. Her sense of humour, competence and honesty made working with her enjoyable.

Brenda started off as a co-worker of mine at the BCMEA. However, after she left her position with the BCMEA she became a close family friend. We shared lots of great memories with Brenda, including a trip where trip down to Key West, Florida. My daughter Jess and I (Bill) got to visit the house she had built in Chemainus which looked a lot like the condo she had in Yaletown. Brenda was an amazing friend, mother and grandmother. Whenever Brenda or as we referred to her as "Miss Brenda" visited it felt almost as if no time had passed and we picked up right where we left off. It was a very sad day when we learned that Brenda had passed away. We will treasure the memories we made with Brenda over the years.

My sincere condolences to Brenda´s family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Brenda for a number of years at Amica. Such a bright, knowledgeable and professional colleague. But much more than that, she was kind, funny, supportive and just had good old common sense, which she applied to every decision she made. Always thinking about those who couldn´t fight for themselves. Gone far too soon. RIP Brenda

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Brenda, during which time I learned to admire her wit, her sense of humour and her genuine nature. We both went our separate ways, yet remained in touch. She proved to be a faithful and caring friend, always ready to listen and to help. I have deep gratitude for her kindness and friendship. I will dearly miss her....

Brenda used to stop by my desk for a chat from time to time. She loved to talk about her kids and her grandkids. She had a unique way of lifting spirits; she nicknamed my team her "awesome accounting peeps" and often left fun notes and trinkets on our desks. Her unique sense of humour and her ability to bring light and positivity to any situation will be missed. Sincere condolences to her loved ones.

My deepest condolences to the entire Allen Family! Brenda was so genuine and kind to me when I joined Amica. Her deep care for the people she served was evident from the first day we worked together and her handprints remain on so many of us at Amica.

The saying "first impression last" is so true. I remembered the first time I met Brenda Allen. It was the first time our team at Bombardier had to meet with the new owners from Longview. We were in a small board room on the 2nd floor main building at 123 Garratt Blvd. There was a cloud of uncertainties hanging over our heads. We were worried about our jobs and our company. Most of us had never heard of Longview prior to this. Brenda spoke to us about Longview and the future. She had this reassuring and calming effect on others, well on me. I left that room feeling 100% better than when I went in. As I walked out, I thought of the great words of Bob Marley, "everything is gonna be alright". A great loss. She will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of Brenda's passing. She was one of my very first bosses and hired me when I had just started out working in HR, she had a big impact on me, in the very early stages of my career. She was a strong advocate for employee development, transparency and fairness. Even though we fell out of touch over the years, I often, at different times in different jobs, reflected back on some of the advice and guidance she provided way back then. She will be missed and remembered.

Brenda interviewed and hired me when the Longview water bomber conversion program was being started in 2018. I will never forget what a kind, thoughtful person she was. She left an impression on me that will last forever. She will be dearly missed.

It's truly heartbreaking to hear about Brenda Allen's passing. I only had the chance to work with her on a few occasions, but even in that short time, her impact was undeniable. She was such a lovely, passionate, and incredibly sweet person. Her dedication and the warmth she brought to every interaction were truly remarkable. This is indeed a huge loss for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

My deepest condolences for the loss of my ex boss. Brenda was the one who hired me when I graduated fresh out of school. My first job in Canada and she believed in me and gave me a chance.
