Brian Cameron Obituary

Much loved husband and partner of Roslyn, father of Lucas (Leah), Molly, Daniel, and grandfather of Olivia, Brian Cameron peacefully passed away on September 12, 2022 at his home in Victoria. Born and raised in Victoria, Brian attended St. Michael's School and Oak Bay High School and studied Agriculture at the University of British Columbia. In 1981, Brian started Pastiche Productions in Victoria, a video production company that produced high quality video communications for public and private sector clients that would go on to win national and international awards. From immersing himself in a book as a young boy to later learning how to fly a plane and obtaining his private pilot's license, Brian pursued his passions with a focused mind. He was a scuba diver and an avid fisherman, who shared his love for the sport with his family at Hakai and Langara Lodge, always keeping his bait fresh and his lines tight, ever vigilant against pesky sea lions. He was also a determined golfer. Brian, who was affectionately known as "Squito"to his friends at the Victoria Golf Club, could be seen there often on the course doing what he loved to do. Brian enjoyed spending summer days at Shawnigan Lake with his family, and at the Union Club for special celebrations.

After his wife and the mother of their three children, Ann Bryce, passed away suddenly in 2015, Brian met Roslyn Goodall. They married in 2017, and in their precious time together forged a partnership of love and support through the good times and challenges that life brings. They enjoyed traveling together in France and had looked forward to many more adventures after Covid. Brian generously supported numerous philanthropic organizations in the Greater Victoria area. During Brian's illness, he was cared for and comforted by Roslyn, supported by her sister Alisa Kerr, Brian's children, his compassionate doctor and wonderful home care nurses at Victoria Hospice. Brian is survived by his siblings, Laura Ferreira (Stephen Titus), Donnell (Rima), and Ian (Susan Rice); cousins Marily, Lindsay, and Craig Mearns and Cathy Rotes (Paul), numerous nephews and a niece, and brother-in-law Laird Kerr. He was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Cameron; his father, Newton Cameron; and his stepson Ash Goodall. "Till we meet again".

Brian, Anne and Roslyn are held deeply in our hearts at Our Place Society. Their generous gifts to support a continuum of care, and the New Roads therapeutic recovery community, are touching hundreds of lives each year. Brian always had a smile, a glint in his eye, a hug for those who were hurting, and a laugh for a good joke. The Cameron family are pillars of our community and we are fortunate to have had the opportunity to help them put their values into action.
We will light a candle and continue to care for the plant and bench donated by Brian and Roz as we continue to honour their lasting legacy at New Roads.

It was my pleasure to have met Brian in the early 90's to do with work. He was always focused on whatever he was doing at the time and enjoyed life immensely. He was a true gentleman and a pleasure to know.
